Time Management Manages to Create Success - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career

Time Management Manages to Create Success - Personal Branding Blog - Stand Out In Your Career Have you known people personally and professionally who are always behind on scheduling and completing projects or even making reservations on time for vacation?   Should you be a punctual type person, you probably have to brace yourself to avoid the feeling of annoyance. Is it about time? When you have time management down to a science or at least an efficiency timetable, people view you and your brand as: 1. Reliable and trustworthy 2. Professional 3. Earning a returning and referring clientele The one element missing for most new entrepreneurs or novices, when it comes to job search, is many times we do not recognize all that is involved.   For example, when I first decided to write a book, I was completely unaware it was almost entirely up to me to sell the copies.   It was painful to suddenly realize I was the responsible party for learning how to become a speaker and a well-known one at that; a person who excelled in marketing and public relations, a columnist, the one who obtains interviews, and the one who keeps on top of the latest trends ahead of the curve. It is a daunting task when you have a large vision and are only on square one. My advice for you is once you recognize what you wish to accomplish, begin questioning those who went before you to find all that may be involved.   Should some of it sound overwhelming, put that project on the backburner until you complete the easier projects. Does your brand deliver? As you begin to feel satisfaction with the easier tasks, you will be far more inclined to tackle the more challenging ones.   Time management and project management will truly empower your success. Projects must be listed, detailed and prioritized to systematically achieve your distant vision.     Next, begin setting goals by the year, month, week and day.   Work backwards from the general yearly goal into specifics by the time you reach week and day for what needs to get done. My favorite tip is to write down what must be achieved prior to each new work week.   At the end of each working day, add specific tasks for the next to your list.   The running task list eliminates much wasted time. Years ago, I heard the suggestion of dividing your day into mini-days.   Set aside a specific time for your projects such as creating a training manual uninterrupted.   Do not derail your effort by continually looking at email or social media posts.   Set aside hours in the day for those tasks too. As you get a handle for achieving goals and completing projects easily and far more quickly, you deliver the marketing message that yours is a brand that delivers. You will attract far many more prospects, clients and sales as well as develop a larger returning and referring clientele.   This is the hallmark of a very Smooth Sale! 120 Years-Old University of Wales to Be Scrapped - Two BBC Investigations into its Scandalous Partner Colleges

120 Years-Old University of Wales to Be Scrapped - Two BBC Investigations into its Scandalous Partner Colleges Ciaran Jenkins, BBC Wales Education correspondent comments,   Universities dont normally fold overnight, let alone national institutions.  But after a fortnight of mounting pressure Wales scandal-hit national University is set to be abolished after 118 years.  An alleged visa scam involving staff at one of its many partner colleges, exposed by BBC Wales, was the final nail in its coffin.  A year ago the University was as strong as ever still the second-largest degree-awarding body in the UK, with 70,000 students around the world.  Then came the first BBC Wales investigation, finding irregularities in its foreign partnerships.  The Education Minister, Leighton Andrews, said Wales had been let down by its university.  But worse was to follow: the suggestion that among its partners there was a college in which members of staff were offering to help students cheat their way to its degrees.  Other Welsh universities turned on the institution, six out of ten calling for it to be scrapped.  Only two members of the University would have remained, both located in South West Wales.  The University no longer represented the whole of Wales, the countrys biggest institutions having already pulled out in the past six years.  Some suspected the University would fight on and voiced fears that with each new scandal the reputation of higher education in Wales was being damaged further.  But an already bitter battle between universities in Wales was being conducted in public and that could not continue.  There is much to be proud of in the history of the University of Wales, not least its origins as an institution paid for by the subscriptions of education-hungry ordinary people.  The final chapter in its story, however, will be one tarnished by controversy and scandal. The University of Wales (UoW) says its merger with two colleges is the start of a new beginning for the scandal-hit institution. Read more at BBC. 0

Guest Post 8 Reasons Why Traveling for Work is Appealing

Guest Post 8 Reasons Why Traveling for Work is Appealing If you’re lucky, there may be times in your career where you’ll be required to travel out of town and/or out of the country to do business. The progression of technology has made it significantly easier for people with a travel bug to work and travel, and there’s a lot of benefits that come with it. You will come across ‘digital nomads’ who do work and travel full-time in the cafes and beachfront restaurants in tourist hot spots. It’s exciting and definitely possible for just about anyone. However, if you already know how to be a digital nomad but are not ready to take the leap yet, here are some big reasons that will convince you why traveling for work is appealing. Vigilance Travel makes you hyper-aware of your surroundings. You’re in a new place so you pay extra special attention to everything. This added care to what you do can be applied to work as well where accidents can happen. Sure, you may have worker’s compensation but wouldn’t it be better to be well and healthy than to be disabled for long periods of time? It’s a new place Obviously, this is the main draw to travel. You get to be in a totally new environment. You probably don’t know anyone, maybe even the language. The unknown makes it exciting. In between work, you can explore locations you’ve never seen before, experience cultures that are unique to the place, and learn something new about humans from the other side of the world. Miles, miles, miles The most dedicated miles points earners do mileage runs where they take trips just for the purpose of earning elite status. Meanwhile, you don’t need to do that because you’re already earning miles every time you travel for work. Make sure you are actually signed up with some miles program with the airline to ensure that those miles don’t go to waste. Prevent burnout The day to day grind can get old really fast. Before you know it, you’re tethered to your bed unable to get up and fulfill your responsibilities. Travel for work gives you the opportunity to escape the mundane. You have something to look forward to up until the day of your travel and you can do many interesting things during your trip. Better adaptability One thing really good travelers have is adaptability. Don’t expect them to complain just because a certain locale doesn’t serve their favorite green juice. The same goes when you constantly travel for work, you learn to adapt to every situation. This skill can be highly valuable in your career where oftentimes, you’re thrown a new problem that you only have a few hours to solve.   Remote work is a possibility If you can prove that you are just as efficient working outside the office, it’ll be easier to convince your boss to work remotely. It’s becoming the norm these days and more companies are actually preferring it. It’s cost-effective and it allows people to be more productive. Travelers become people persons Part of traveling is meeting new people. I’m not talking about business meetings. I mean the people you encounter at the reception, the lady whose cafeteria you buy food from, the group you meet at a museum. You will come across various personalities forcing you to be outside of your comfort zone. Again, this skill can be highly valuable in the business world. Pack like a pro Most people like to brag that they’re overpackers. But you’re different from those people. You probably have your packing down to a tee. Only allowed a carry-on? No problem. Got only a few hours to pack? Bring it on! Packing with practicality in mind makes it so you only have the most important things in your bag. Sometimes, this practicality can translate really well to your lifestyle as well. Wrapping it All Up Whether you’re a business traveler or you’re interested in learning how to become a digital nomad there are benefits to work and travel. Did we get them all?   What other perks of traveling for work you know? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Become a Fitness Professional in 2020 - CareerAlley

Become a Fitness Professional in 2020 - CareerAlley We may receive compensation when you click on links to products from our partners. Its a new year and a new decade and both these milestones bring an opportunity to reflect on our personal and professional goals, ambitions and aspirations. One of the most popular things that finds its way on to lists is finding a new job and in many cases, changing careers and doing something completely new. If you've ever considered switching careers and joining the fitness industry, here are a few of the most popular routes that you could take. Tweet This In terms of a viable option for a career change, you should look no further than the fitness industry. There are so many roles and jobs available and for many, many people, no two days are ever the same. The figures back up this up as well. In the UK alone, its estimated that the fitness industry is worth in excess of 5bn and over 10 million people are a member of a gym, that equates to about 15% of the population. Considering all that, the only word that should spring to mind is opportunity. If youve ever considered switching careers and joining the fitness industry, here are a few of the most popular routes that you could take. One of the many beauties of this line of work is that you dont ever have to pen yourself in. Thats not to say you cant specialise and only focus on one thing, but just because youre a yoga teacher, doesnt mean you cant upskill into another discipline like personal training or sports massage, for example. Its incredibly flexible that way and the opportunities are truly unlimited. Personal trainer Many would describe the role of a personal trainer as being an essential one. They really are the fitness elite and a cornerstone of the industry. If youve ever spent five minutes in a gym then youll have seen this for yourself. Day in, day out theyre helping clients set and smash their goals, provide expert advice for both exercise and nutrition, act as a confidant, motivator and so much more. Your journey starts with personal trainer courses and if youre brand new to fitness youll first need to become a gym instructor (an entry-level qualification) before you can progress to personal training and become a fully-fledged PT. Youll learn the ropes, master how to plan sessions, manage your business and be able to tackle nutrition and weight management. If you have ambitions of working in a leading gym or even opening up your own place, this is a role for you. If you still need a bit more inspiration about whats possible, have a look at what some of the best personal trainers have to say about the success theyve been able to make for themselves. Pilates and yoga Weve grouped these together and while both Pilates and yoga share many similarities in terms of the exercises performed in class and the health benefits achieved there are a few subtle differences. Often, people come to Pilates for a more grounded exercise experience and to develop flexibility, improve core strength and fix postural problems. While you can get these benefits from yoga, many come to the practice for a more holistic and at times spiritual experience (the latter by no means being mandatory). Its a matter of fact that many aspiring fitness professionals choose to become both a Pilates instructor and a yoga teacher as it greatly enhances your client base. Sports massage Its no secret that as a society we spend far too much time sat down and not moving, and this has paved the way for widespread dysfunction, inflammation, tension, and injury. Sports massage is the perfect remedy for what ails us. Its not just reserved for members of the general public either, amateur, semi-pro and professional sportspeople and teams are always in need of the services of a qualified massage therapist. To give you a bit of background, this form of manual therapy involves working with soft tissue (skin, muscles, etc) with a view to limit the risk of injury, reduce inflammation and support recovery. Common conditions like the dreaded tennis elbow, runners knee, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, and many more can all be dealt with. Getting qualified is just a matter of choosing the right sports massage courses and getting hands-on with practical techniques and developing your knowledge. We hope thats provided a bit of inspiration if youre considering a career change in 2020. Fitness really is one of the most vibrant, exciting and opportunity-filled industries on the planet, so isnt it time you made your move? What's next? Ready to take action?
